Reflections on non-conformity, beyond surgery, civilization, and society.
During our lives as Orthopaedic Surgeons and Medical Doctors we often experience situations where we dare not clearly express our views about practices which we find highly questionable, or sometimes even dead wrong. Why do we not act on these perceptions? Are we unsure? Do we lack courage? Is it because we might lose our job? Are we afraid that others might suffer or lose face? In capturing a shared essence for the reasons behind these decisions and their associated actions or inactions we will have achieved the first colloquium objective.
For this reason, we invite you to be part of a Colloquium at the occasion Roli Jakob’s 80th birthday treating practical issues of our field which will hopefully serve as an eye opener.
